Still River Alpacas started as a dream when we met our first alpaca in November 2009. From that point forward it was full steam ahead, as we just knew this was our calling. Alpacas became our passion and after 7 months of preparation (and LOTS of help from other local alpaca farms), our dream finally became a reality and we brought our ‘kids’ home to our Maryland alpaca farm on June 28, 2010. Since then, you cannot keep us out of the barn and pastures.
Still River Alpacas sits on 30 acres along the bank of the peaceful Monocacy River in Emmitsburg, MD. Our foundation herd consists of two males and four females. We welcomed our first two cria, Francisco Lee and Elaina Rae, on 5/12/10 and 5/13/10 respectively, and they have truly been a joy. Since then we have continued to watch our livestock investment grow each year. We regularly attend alpaca shows and have volunteered at fleece shows for the AOBA National Alpaca Show to support our industry and gain valuable experience to share with new and prospective alpaca farms. We are proud to offer some of the finest alpacas for sale in Maryland, bred for their quality fiber, conformation and temperament.
Aside from raising alpacas, we also offer our boarding at our spacious alpaca farm. We have also had the pleasure of working with a growing number of farms that have used our graphic design service for their alpaca farm logos and other alpaca farm marketing materials. We also offer a number of handmade alpaca products for sale in our farm store, which we have produced ourselves from the fiber off our own alpacas at our Maryland alpaca farm.
We welcome all visitors so please get in touch if you’d like to come for a farm visit at our Maryland alpaca farm.
